When school's out, online dating is in!
When she was in school, Michelle had no trouble meeting guys. But that changed after graduation. “As we get into adulthood, it’s much harder to meet new people and socially network outside the workplace,” she notes.

For Michelle, joining this dating site seemed like a logical decision. She didn’t know how right she was! She and a guy with the handle “Bigge” both clicked “yes” for each other’s profiles. Michelle soon got an email from Emmett, aka Bigge…
For these two, that elusive chemistry was there from the start. Their first date was no quick trip to the coffee shop—Emmett cooked dinner and they watched a movie together. Michelle came away with a favorable first impression. “He’s very easy-going, easy to talk to, and I love his smile! We both instantly felt the same about each other, which was also comforting.”
Things progressed smoothly from there. The couple share common interests and a desire for marriage and children. “There’s no rush, but we both want that,” Michelle confirms. For now, they are enjoying the process of getting to know each other better. Michelle is certainly glad she didn’t wait too long to get comfortable with online dating. “I’m so happy since meeting Emmett, and I have such a good time with him!” she says.
Whether you’re fresh out of school, stuck at work for long hours, or just not meeting that special someone, take heart in Michelle and Emmett’s little success story. If you don’t give up, the next one we tell might be yours…

What a beautiful couple! I wish you success and happiness in your relationship! @serenity, why do you get so many "dislikes" on your postings?

I think online dating benefits women more than men in general because women are the one's that are more scared to talk on the phone and definitely more scared to meet in person. This leaves the guy at a disadvantage and I wish women were bolder and more secure in these capacities and not so fearful all the time. Also the younger the female, the more scared they usually act so it is definitely hard on guys. It is actually easier for guys in person when they meet a female because the woman can quickly tell by his appearance and body language and tone of voice and manner of voice if he is a threat more often than they can online and are less afraid to talk to a guy then. Black women are even more scared of white men online then women white women and are really scared about meeting or talking on the phone to a white man. Again, the younger the female, the more this is true. I have much more luck talking to women including black women when I meet them in person first because they can see how harmless and nice I really am and that I am a really nice gentleman that is calm and logical and stable. Women notice that more in person than online where you can't communicate as well so it has been a hard struggle for me online and I am thinking I should go for my Doctorate now since I met all my other girlfriends in undergraduate and Graduate school. That is the best place to meet women and they can see that you have a good intellect and good morality by the way you answer questions in class depending on the nature of the class. That's why I miss all the Psychology and Theology classes I used to take because women could really get to know you well then there. Time to go back to school!!;-)

I believe online dating is a lot safer and it gives people an alternative to frequenting the bar scene. It can be a challenge at times, but you also have the freedom of communicating with people who may be interested in finding true love. Dating via web is timeless and I believe it is a wonderful resource for anyone single and trying to recast their self into dating scene. As far as communicating with a Caucasian man, I don't think that Black women are fearful at all. We have nothing to lose. I think that so many women are fed up of men who are evasive, liars or operating using sexually driven language. I can't tell you how many times that I have become partially paralyzed due to being approached in a small-minded manner . It can be disheartening but I try to understand that there are some socially inept individuals (prowling around) who only know how to respond using intimate verbiage. At any rate, hang in there! It surely sounds like online dating fits your needs time wise and Mr. right may be just a flirt or email away!:) The best of luck to you!

One of my girlfriend swears the reason I have not met anyone is because I'm online dating. She's constantly trying to convince me to go to clubs or bars with her. I've had to remind her several times of our age difference. She just turned 24 this year. I don't mind going dancing at a club 1-2 times a year. And when I do- meeting men is not whats on my mind. I'm just enjoying the atmosphere and having a ball with my friends. I've been to lounge-bar 2-3 times- and my visits were because of parties. I'm a single mother and I do not go out when I have my son. I work full-time, squeeze 45 minutes @ the gym (& I do not make small talk while working out :) ) Pick my son up from school. Play-dates are the highlights on the weekends when my son is home. And when I'm out with friends I'm too engage to notice any interests. But my friends says I'm just aloof. So, yes, I agree, Online Dating is definitely for Me.
